When updating my ticker that I have "ticked" past 50% of my goal. That is not something that I have ever taken much notice of, but now as I sit here thinking about that it really is a good acheivement.
It has been a couple of months since my last post and in my head I was sure that I haven't acheived much however the good thing about these posts and the tickers are that they provide you will real numbers (and thoughts).
I was feeling negative as the last few weeks have been slow going, however as is the common theme with my posts, I have started concentrating on my food intake again and the numbers this week speak for themselves. I have dropped about 2kgs this week which is great as now I am officially down over 70kg. I have been on the edge of this number for the better part of 2 weeks now. I think I have said this before, but if you will indulge me I will repeat it. The great thing about the band is that when you lose your shit and go off the rails a bit it really doesn't effect you too bad. For me "losing my shit" just means maybe drinking high calorie drinks (ahh icebreak how I love you) and have having chocolate etc. The reality of it is that you might do that for a week or two but it wont effect the scales too much (maybe a 1-2 kgs). Anyway for me after a couple of weeks you start to feel like shit then you get back on the program again. I think of it as ratchet, generally the band will help you go down, sure you might plateu for a while but then it will kick in and you will go down again.
I have really started to notice some changes with my body in the last month or so, some good and some bad. People always ask to you feel better for it etc. I really thought about this the other day when a mate asked and responded with "I think so". You see the reality of it is that your mate might not have seen you for a while (say 6 months) and to them you look way healthier, but the weight loss is gradual which means that changes are gradual. To answer the question of "do you feel healthier and are things easier" requires you to to really take a step back and think. The answer I gave was "yes". I started thinking about things I would do before that really were a struggle.
The bad side for me is that I am starting to get some lose skin happening. This was inevitable, it is not too bad at the moment but I think in about and 30kgs or so it will be start to be bad. I have resigned myself to the fact that there will be multiple surgeries required to rectify it which will not be fun, however it is all about the end game. Come hell or highwater I will be under that 100kg mark in the next year or two.
Anyway that is enough for now.
Cheers
