Flatline

Well here I am already 3 months into 2011, it never ceases to amaze me how fast the time goes the older you get.

I remember when I was a kid a year felt like, well a year. I swear now a year feels like 6 months!!

I had a great Christmas, didn't stress about the wieght management side too much and enjoyed many drinks and some good food. Over the Christmas break I probably only lost about 1kg, but the good news is I certainly didn't put any weight on.

The real problem for me has come post Christmas (1 Jan - 1 March) over that whole period I have only lost about 2-3kgs. I wasn't sure why that it is. Last week I went to my regular fill appointment and spoke to the Dr about it. She suggested that I see my diatician again. The good part about those appointments is that it puts the band, front and centre in your mind. It can't be avoided or blocked out. If I was to ever give a piece of advice to a someone thinking about lap banding (or even those with it) it is to go and see your Dr every month whether or not you need a fill. It is as much about having a yarn as it is about having a fill.

Anyway after the meeting I thought a lot about where I am going wrong until the penny finally dropped. It is a very simple solution, I am simply relying on the band too much. It is a typical lazy way of thinking, I have the band now so she will be right mate. WRONG, you still need to control portions, don't drink while eating and of course eat the right tucker. So I have now pulled my head in again and taken some accountability for what is going into my gob, the results are good. I have dropped almost 2.5kgs since last week.

I guess the other big news that I have glossed over it that I have gone through the barrier of 50kgs since I started on the lap band journey and I am almost down 70kgs from my highest weight. These are huge numbers but I still have a hell of a long way to go.

The next massive goal for me is 150kg, once I hit this weight I will really treat myself to some good stuff, spend some money on myself and starting putting in place the tools to acheive a huge goal of mine, I dare not speak of it until I acheive my weighloss goal.

I will report back soon(ish).

Cheers.
